Part 1 | Selection Process The Eligibility & Selection Process - Mujahid Force
Gender & Status: Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Education: Minimum Intermediate (FA/FSc) or equivalent with at least 55% marks, or a Graduate degree.
Age Limits: 17 to 22 years for Intermediate holders; up to 23 or 24 years for Graduates.
Minimum Height: 5 feet 4 inches (162.5 cm)
The Selection Mechanism:
- They mostly select PMA recommended candidates.
- Mujahid Force may also (other then above), float advertisement for specific requirement, as/if needed from time to time.
- You will appear for PMA long course and clear initial tests and ISSB.
- The Mujahid Force Allocation: If you are recommended by the ISSB but fall just below the final merit list threshold for the standard 2-year PMA Long Course, you may be offered a spot in the Mujahid Force.
- The Mujahid cadets go under the training of one year at PMA, Kakul in Mujahid Officer Course and pass out 2nd Lieutenants.
- MO Course is based on 6 month training at PMA and 6 month training in Mujahid Regimental Center Bhimber AJK along with compulsory Desert Warfare Course at Desert Warfare School, Chourr Cantt.
- It only comes once a year in Summer entry.
Salary: The salary of Mujahid Officers is very close to that of Army officer in other battalions like FF, PR etc.

Part 2 | History The history of of Mujahid Force
The Mujahid Force was established in 1965, and was merged into the National Guard when that organization was formed in 1972. It was raised as a reserve force to support and supplement the regular Army during national emergencies and war. The headquarters are in Bhimber, Azad Kashmir, established in 1992. There are 2 mechanism / types of these forces - active and semi- active. Non active are activated only for a short time of 2 months in a year for training and the officers then go back and do their other business of life. In active units the soldiers remain active through out while the officer may be deactivated for smaller period of time after some years.
The Force was originally intended as a border guard unit but has been involved in military actions in recent years. These units are not to be mixed with Janbaz Force, which is a National Guard. Mujahid Battalions are no more a para military force but are rated / considered as good a regular army. The officer cadre in these is promoted to the rank of Colonel.
