Subhan, a 16-year-old first-year student, had a problem in speaking English. So he thought that he must work to overcome it. After discussing with parents and teachers and learning from YouTube, he started loud reading of the newspaper and self-talking in front of the mirror. Improvement was, however, nowhere near what he wanted. Subhan changed gears, requested his teacher for extempore practice in class, installed an English practice app on his phone, and also started recording/hearing own voice on his phone. The progress was still very slow, but with effort, he became fluent in English. He learned and applied hard work to other aspects of his life and became a successful person.
