Eligibility, Syllabus PN Cadets

This is the main scheme for enrollment of officers in Pakistan Navy. Under this scheme candidates are inducted twice a year as PN Cadet. This type of commission is offered in the following branches after the successful completion of 2 years initial training.
- Operations
- Weapon Engineering
- Marine Engineering
- Supply

ELIGIBILITY
- Age
Civilian : 16 ½ - 21.0 years,
Serving :17.0 - 23.0 years
- Height : Male :5' 4" (162.5 cm)
- Gender: Male
- Marital Status: Unmarried (this condition will not apply in the case of service candidates)
- Candidates must have qualified HSSC/A-Level with at least 60% marks with any of the following subjects:
  • Physics, Maths and Chemistry
  • Physics, Maths and Computer Science
  • Physics, Maths and Statistics
- Age is counted on the first day of month in which a candidate joins the training establishment or a specific date promulgated by NHQ
- Candidates of A-Level are required to submit equivalence certificate
- F.Sc Part-II appearing candidates with at least 60% marks in Part-I are eligible. However, they have to provide a hope certificate

How to Register for PN-Cadet:
- Candidates may register themselves by visiting Pakistan Navy Website (https: www.Paknavy.gob.pk)
- Application sent directly to Recruitment Director at Naval Headquarters will not entertained.
- Online register candidates must bring postal order of Rs: 300/- (Crossed in the name Director of Recruitment NHQ Islambad)

What tests are conducted for PN Cadets

All candidates will have to go through the following stages in order to qualify as a Navy Cadet:
- Intelligence test: Verbal and Non Verbal Tests.75 Questions 40 min
- Academic Test: English, Physics, Maths and General Knowledge. 100 Question in 80 minutes
- Medical Tests and Interviews
- Tests/Interviews at ISSB.
- Final Selection by Naval Headquarters on merit.

What is the Syllabus of Academic Test of PN Cadet.
  • English:70- 80 questions - Basic English to include, Grammar, Sentence Completion, Synonym/Antonyms, Reading Comprehension
  • Physics: 70-80 questions. FSC part I & II - A levels Physics
    The topics mainly tested in physics are:
    Measurements, Vectors and Equilibrium, Motion and Force, Work, Power and Energy, Circular Motion, Fluid Dynamics, Oscillations, Waves, Physical Optics, Optical Instruments, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Electromagnetism, Electromagnetic Induction, Alternating Current, Physics of Solids, Electronics, Dawn of Modern Physics, Atomic Spectra, Nuclear Physics.
  • Maths: 70-80 questions, FSC Maths part I & II / A level Math.
    The topics mainly tested are:
    Number Systems, Sets, Functions and Groups, Matrices and Determinants, Quadratic Equations, Partial Fractions, Sequence and Series, Permutations, Combinations and Probability, Mathematical Induction and Binomial Theorem, Trigonometric Identities of Sum and Difference of Angles, Trigonometric Functions and their Graphs, Application of Trigonometry, Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Solutions of Trigonometric Equations, Functions and Limits, Differentiation, Integration, Introduction to Analytic Geometry, Linear Inequalities and Linear Programming, Conic Sections, vectors
  • General Knowledge:
    • Pakistan Studies
    • Islamic Studies
    • Current Affairs

INELIGIBILITY
A candidate is ineligible if he is:-
  1. PUF by AMB (permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board).
  2. Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (AMB cannot be requested).
  3. Declared unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared by Appeal Medical Board.
  4. Tested within four months (120 days) gap of previous appearance (For Not Recommended candidates).
  5. Tested within one year validity period. (As validity of ISSB/GHQ/AHQ/NHQ Selection Board stands for one year).
  6. Twice rejected by ISSB/GHQ/NHQ/AHQ Selection Board or once rejected by ISSB and once rejected by GHQ/NHQ/AHQ Selection Board.
  7. Withdrawn from any Academy/Training Institution of Armed Forces on any ground.
  8. Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces college/institution on disciplinary grounds.
  9. Dismissed/removed/debarred from Government Services including Armed forces.
  10. Convicted by a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.
  11. Submitting tampered original academic certificate.
